Ori grew up in Israel, where he started playing the guitar at the age of 12. At the age of 18 he was acknowledged by the Israeli Ministry of culture as an “Outstanding Musician”.
In 2004, Ori received a special scholarship and award from the famous Berklee College of Music in Boston where he began study with Jazz masters like Joe Lovano, Hal Crook, Mark Whitefield... In 2007 Ori had moved to New York and he is now entering the New York scene as a sideman and as a bandleader performing his original music
Ori’s music can be described as deeply rooted in Israeli, East European, Yemenite and North- African music. His compositions and improvisations combine his deep love for the Jazz tradition and his strong connection with the sounds of his homeland. All this creates a unique sound and a distinguished musical style.
Ori’s Debut CD for Tzadik Records, “Entrances”, was released in 2009 worldwide.
