Blues-jazz- soul band from Sofia “Dirty Purchase” is going to perform at Nišville 2016 main program at friday August 12 th.
Dirty Purchase was founded in 1995 as a resident band of the iconic club Swingin' Hall in Sofia. Since its very beginning over 20 musicians have taken part in the band. Starting off as a more blues band, Dirty Purchase has established a solid funk and soul sound with joining members Ivan Lechev (solo guitar and violin) and the two vocalist Amalia and Emil.
While being a renowned band on home turf, Dirty Purchase has also been performing at the international scene ever since. Awarded first prize for their song “Sweet Sensation” by the Bulgarian National Radio.
In February 2016, Dirty Purchase released their first record “Sweet Sensation” with a distinctive original sound and alternative arrangements of funk, jazz and rock classics.

Lyudmil Stoynev /keys, organ/
In early 90s he founded „Bad City” one of the leading bands in the club scene of Sofia. Following multiple blues concerts in Chicago in 2002 and a very special gig in blues legend Buddy Guy's own club - Buddy Guy Blues Legends. While in Chicago, Lyudmil is the only shortlisted European and wins 2 nd place in the local blues and rock guitarists contest.
Nikolay Danev /drums/
A founder of the bands Ahead and High Time. Leading drummer in D.A.N.G., Brazz ViliDj, Tri O Five and renowned performers such as Beloslava, hip-hop artist Spens and many more.
Mihail Yossifov /trumpet/
Producer and co-founder of multiple musical projects (RomaNeno Project, Sentimental Swingers, Brazz Association Combo), composer of film scores and theatre music (critically acclaimed 'Characters' by Kamen Donev) as well as his very own 'Mihail Yosifov Sextet'. Has performed with artists and bands such as Mike Stern, Mezzoforte, De-Phazz, Peter Herbolzheimer, Karen Bernod, Randy Brecker, Teodosii Spasov, Hilda Kazasyan. Awarded 'Jazz Musician of the Year 2009' by Union of Bulgarian Musicians and Dancers and special achievement prize to Bulgarian culture by ClassicFM and JazzFM Bulgaria. Joined Pink Martini as part of their European tour in 2014.
Velislav Stoyanov /trombone/
As well as his extensive work with one of the biggest names in the Bulgarian music scene, Velislav has joined to perform with Mezzoforte, Dave Weckl, Jimmy Bosch, Poogie Bell, Frankie Morales to mention a few.Once part of 'Wickeda' and 'Kaffe' today he is the proud co-founder of Brazz Association Big Band, Mihail Yossifov Sextet, RomaNeno Project, BrazzViliDJ and Tumbaito and part of the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra. Velislav is the musical director of the first brass festival in Bulgaria - BraZZobraZZie. Assistant professor of Chamber Music as well as a director of the big band at the National School of Music in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Amalia Nenova /vocals/
A leading vocalist for Bee Gees' Robin Gibb between 2002-2011. An invaluable singer part of studio recordings with Kurt Hauenstein, Lou Bega, Мolly Hatchet and Messiah's Kiss.
Emil Minchev /vocals/
While touring various musical festivals around the country, Emil meets the guys behind 'Ahead Project' and soon after they establish their own musical style in what would later be 'Ahead' releasing 2 records in the following years. Emil joins Dirty Purchase in 2006.
Denis Popstoev /saxophone/
Youngest member of the band. In 2010 wins first prize in Young Musicians contest of Bulgaria.
Milen Kukosharov /keys/
Milen's first solid steps in the jazz scene were in early 90s when he co-founds Infinity together with Velislav Stoyanov and Mihail Yossifov. High-profile collaborations with artists such as 'Kaffe', jazz legend Kamelia Todorova and pop icon Lili Ivanova are to follow. Part of many projects with Hilda Kazasyan, Anatoli Vapirov, Hristo Yotsov, Jean- Marie Ecay (Billy Cobham), Chad Lefkowitz-Brown and De-Phazz. As a renowned pianist Milen later joins some of the biggest names in Latin American jazz music scene Frankie Morales (Tito Puente), Herman Olivera(Johnny Pacheco, Ray Barreto, Eddie Palmieri) Jimmy Bosch (Mark Anthony). His collaboration with Frankie Morales premieres in American Billboard Tropical charts.
